PREVENTION

Coping with the effects of preventable illnesses costs the NHS (and us as taxpayers) billions each year. It’s estimated that the NHS spends almost £11bn a year on diabetes alone. Our future health, and the sustainability of the NHS, requires us all to give this serious attention. The NHS 10-Year Health Plan recognises these issues, and is focused accordingly.

HEALTH FUND will be similarly focused. Contributors will be directly encouraged to engage with their own health and wellbeing; there is already a wealth of excellent tools available, especially online. A suite of personalised material would be offered, to help contributors better understand their own health status, and offer proactive support to those who wish to improve this. The programme would be designed with the NHS, to ensure it’s aligned with their initiatives and consistency is achieved.
